Sweet Tooth Craving? Try this Fauxnut Butter Fudge!

After several unsuccessful attempts at making a chocolate fudge alternative, I decided to give peanut butter fudge a try. I have been looking for a healthy alternative to satisfy my sweet tooth when I get one. Something that’s easy to make, from ingredients that I have on hand all the time, and that my family would like as well.

The ingredients I used were sunflower seed butter (since I’m allergic to peanuts), coconut oil, and raw honey. That was it! I made a small batch to make sure it was good before wasting the expensive stuff, so this only made twelve very small pieces. You may want to adjust the recipe to make a larger batch.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1 cup sunflower seed butter
  • 1/3 cup honey

 

  1. Melt the coconut butter over low heat in medium saucepan.
  2. After completely melted, remove from heat and add coconut oil, sunflower seed butter and honey to small food processor or blender, mixing until ingredients have blended together.
  3. Pour into dish and place in freezer until set.
  4. Remove and enjoy!

While I didn’t use a recipe, I did find one later, and I’m definitely going to have to give this one from The Spunky Coconut a try!

Verdict: Good, but not quite awesome. Work in progress!
